System requirements

Renamy runs standard rename workflows locally. Local AI is optional and does not require a dedicated GPU.

Requirements may change as platform builds are finalized.

Supported platforms

• Windows 64-bit
• macOS
• Linux

Hardware

• A modern 64-bit processor is recommended.
• CPU-only AI processing is supported; a dedicated GPU is not required.
• AVX2 support is recommended for x86 systems.
• At least 8 GB of RAM is recommended for local AI workflows.
• Allow approximately 5 GB of free storage for the local model and supporting files.

Performance

Processing speed varies with CPU, RAM, GPU acceleration, file type, file size, batch size, and the complexity of the AI request. Standard pattern and metadata operations are generally much lighter than content analysis.

AI-supported content

AI analysis is intended for supported documents and images. Audio and video can still be used in manual or metadata-based workflows, but are not currently part of the AI auto-renaming scope.
